There's no road with out turnings

Sorry for the long silence and any inconvenience that may have caused.

Last 10 days have been quite adventurous for me. Cutting the long story short, it started with some one quietly stealing my laptop from my bag in the airport. Until then, I never realized how valuable a small electronic piece could be in ones life! I had all my passwords on a password manager and never backed it up in a long time. So I was locked out of my own accounts until I was able to recover all of them and get back to life.

Along with my passwords, I also lost a lot of work I stored in my Amoborker installation (AFLs etc), and other programs I developed to download tickdata etc. Now I need to rewrite them and get back to business!

And another personal development is that I will be moving out of country for a longterm in next 2-3 months. Along with getting back to business, I need to take care of a lot of other things for home shifting.

Its really sad to keep having discontinuities to my blogging, specially that it came up so well than I expected. But until things straighten up for me, I have to concentrate on my priorities.

I am very sorry to people who were relying on my tick data. I am back to using 1-min data being provided by investbulls.com, and I would suggest the same to you all too.

Cheers and good luck!

Hi Doji,
Terribly sorry for your data and trading systems(Afl) loss. I can understand the ordeal one has to endure when you loose your precious piece of equipment(you're right ,it is valuable).I can empathise because my PC's Hard Drive was fried due to a power surge. Nevertheless this is the only time when the matrix has to be reprogrammed and this is some cosmic event no oracle could predict.
All the Best!

hi
i too terribly feel sorry and i second on that with 'vicky'. i had quite a few of those experiences and have made a point to take a backup every so often. twice or thrice i had to rewrite certain indicators i had designed.

i sincerely wish you all the best for this new phase and eagerly await for you to get back to posting as i very much admire the sincerity towards your method and your way of writing.

cheers!

am really sorry to hear that, man!

Have also learnt things the hard way and from then on have started sharing all my AFL's, software, data etc. atleast with a few other trusted friends also in addition to back-ups. Really helps.

I hope you had backed-up/shared your data compilation utility (it is by far the most comprehensive and granular database I've seen shared freely), and maybe some others might have been saving the data for the last 2 weeks. Desitradermall has similar frequency data for stocks but not futures, I think. Anyone know of any other source?

Lastly, please let us know if we can help you in any way.

Cheer up man. Take this as a black swan trade!!
IT.

I can understand how difficult it is to get back to life after loss of laptop. Just as a suggestion, you can use Xmarks to synchronize your bookmarks and passwords in firefox (This can be helpful to get the same installation of browser in each PC of yours) there is also Mozilla Weave for doing something like that. Also reading about your ordeal i am going to take my backup today. Best of luck for getting back to normal.

Hi Doji,

Don't worry. You wil surely make it up. You are sure to raise with more vigour after this small episode. An one month wait has extended to two more months. The fact that you will be back after your job is done is sufficient for all your followers to endure this waiting period.
